Dr. Qingzhao Yu is a professor of biostatistics at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center–New Orleans. She has more than 20 years of experience working as a biostatistician with scientists, researchers, and caregivers. She is currently a principal investigator (PI) for one R01 grant and one R15 grant. Dr. Yu is also a co-investigator for the Louisiana Tumor Registry, a co-investigator for the Louisiana Tobacco Control Initiative, and a co-leader for the Data Management and Analysis core of the LSU super fund, assisting with experiment design, data analysis, and writing grant proposals and research articles. Her primary areas of expertise are multi-level analysis, Bayesian modeling, causal effect analysis, data mining and machine learning, gene analysis, spatial analysis, and survey research. She has worked extensively on developing novel mediation and moderation analysis methods and applying these methods to explore health disparities.
Dr. Yu has published over 130 methodology and application papers and one book. She also continuously serves as a reviewer for NIH grants.
