Claiborne Corridor Study
About This Study
LSUHSC is evaluating environmental hazards, exposures, and health outcomes throughout the Claiborne Corridor. This study is funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and LSUHSC.
Researchers will be monitoring the air, water, and soil in public places and homes throughout the corridor. Eligible participants can also be included in testing of biological samples (urine, blood, hair, nails, saliva) to assess exposures and early markers of disease.
The EPA grant aims to inform community planning around the Corridor and engage students and residents in environmental monitoring and deliberative community decision-making.
The LSUHSC grant aims to investigate linkages between environmental exposures and health outcomes.
