Racism is a Public Health Crisis

Statement from the Association of Schools & Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) & the LSU School of Public Health

Racism is a public health crisis. ASPPH stands with those fighting to eradicate systemic racism and injustices. We cannot have a healthy world without a just world. As a public health community, we must stand together to end racism. Click here for a message from Laura Magaña, ASPPH, President & CEO. #ThisIsPublicHealth #RacismIsAPublicHealthCrisis

The LSU School of Public Health stands in solidarity with those seeking justice and a healthy community where racism is not tolerated. We join together with ASPPH and its member schools and programs in the fight against systemic racism and injustice. As a School of Public Health we will continue in our commitment to educate the public on the impact of systemic racism on the public’s health. We recognize that there is no health without justice, and there is no justice without health. Racism disproportionately affects our community members of color and it must eradicated.
