Louisiana bars closed and restaurants limited to take-out, delivery amid coronavirus fight

Louisiana is closing bars and limiting restaurants to take-out, delivery or drive-through service only as the state continues to ramp up restrictions to limit the rapid spread of the new coronavirus in the state.

Gov. John Bel Edwards’ office announced the news Monday afternoon. The move bans gatherings of more than 50 people, closes casinos, bars and movie theaters and limits restaurants to delivery, take-out and drive through only. The changes are effected at midnight and may be lifted April 13.
