Dr. Peggy Honore awarded grant through LSU Health Foundation

Dr. Peggy Honoré, Professor, School of Public Health, was recently awarded a three-year $295,781 grant from the Baptist Community Ministries. The award was made through the LSU Health Foundation.  Work under the grant is titled Educating the Health Workforce: A Pathway to Improving Health Outcomes and represents a partnership between LSU Health Sciences Center and Delgado Community College. The partnership is developing a Health Coach Certificate and a Health Navigator Associate Degree (pending approval) to be awarded at Delgado. $550,000 in funding was also provided for the project through a Workforce Training Rapid Response grant to Delgado from the Board of Supervisors of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System. The Rapid Response funds are appropriated to target opportunities for building workforce career paths in high demand areas and especially those that lead to licensure, certification, or associate degrees.
